Outwitly is an action-oriented UX & service design consulting firm. We are looking for a passionate Social Media Intern with strong social media and writing skills to join our team.

  • You work well with a team and you have the creativity to determine how to present our brand. You are goal-oriented with a history of meeting and exceeding expectations with the work that you do and social media is a passion of yours.

This is a part-time, remote position based in Canada. Some preference may be given to candidates based in Winnipeg or Ottawa (but candidates will not be excluded if they live elsewhere in Canada).

This is an internship position, meaning that our chosen candidate will be closely supported by our Communications and Social Media Lead and Brand Designer to deliver upon their duties. 

The duties for this role include:

Social Media Tasks

  • Assisting in managing all Outwitly social media channels (@Outwitly), including Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook, and TikTok, and working with our graphic designer and subject matter experts to develop engaging content about service design, UX/UI, and design thinking.
    • Using Later App and Hootsuite to post to social media channels.
    • Engaging with our audience and the wider community across all platforms
    • Commitment to growing Outwitly’s social media following, with a focus on Instagram and Reels.
    • Trend forecasting, idea curating, and concept formation are important tasks in this role. Bringing new ideas to the table. Analyzing and improving social media strategy on an ongoing basis.
  • Overseeing and upkeeping Outwitly’s Editorial Calendar(s) for Instagram & running monthly editorial calendar meetings with the team.
  • Producing monthly social media insights reports.
  • Write brand-relevant posts that embrace our brand tonality.
  • Uploading and web publishing Outwilty blog posts ( using WordPress.
  • Pitching ideas and helping to develop Outwitly’s newsletter (weekly) using MailChimp, and managing all email lists and opt-ins.
  • Basic graphic design skills (Canva) are essential. Strong graphic design skills and/or background is considered an asset.



  • Currently studying Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, Advertising or similar.
  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of Instagram, Pinterest, and TikTok.
  • Genuine interest in connecting our brand with individuals throughout the world using the power of social media, with an emphasis on short-form video content
  • At least 1 year of experience managing social media channels (particularly Instagram) and editorial calendars, ideally in a tech/agency environment.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite is essential.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours when needed.
  • Graphic design skills and knowledge of Adobe Suite (asset.)
  • Working knowledge of WordPress and MailChimp (asset.)
  • Some experience working with Google Analytics and SEO best practices (asset.)
  • Familiarity with the service design & UX design and research industry (asset.)
